About Leaf Fielding

The early part of Leaf Fielding’s life is summarized on the home
page.
On his release from prison, in 1982, Leaf Fielding
spent a year in India, roaming from the Himalayas to Cape Comorin.
He retrained as an EFL teacher and taught English in Spain, in the
province of Barcelona. After a Millennium visit to Malawi brought
home to him the plight of AIDS orphans in this beautiful but desperately
poor country, he and his travelling companion determined to build
a home for street children.
After three years raising funds from family and friends, they opened
their hostel for girls in the Samaritan Trust orphanage in Bangwe
township outside Blantyre.
Leaf now sells organic produce in the south-west
of France where he lives with his partner, Sue. He regrets nothing,
because – as he says – if things had happened differently he wouldn’t
be where he is today.
